I am looking for an Animal Communicator in Devon or an Animal communicator in Somerset. Can Understanding Animals help?
Yes! Faye Stacey had to pass exams with a vet, an animal behaviourist, an animal welfare specialist and an animal trainer in order to become an animal communicator. She has also been developing her energy work so that she can offer Reiki alongside animal communication. She has set up Understanding Animals to help owners understand their animals, helping them develop their relationships – the Understanding Animals motto is “Bringing you and your animals closer together”. Faye lives in mid Devon so her nearest counties are Devon and Somerset but she has helped animals much further afield (see below). Phone consultations are an effective and affordable means of having an animal communication session.

Can you work with animals outside of Devon?
If you live in Devon, Somerset or Cornwall Faye is likely to be able to offer a home visit if you would like an equine iridology, animal communication, self-selection, laminitis/hoof rehabilitation know-how, or red light therapy session.

Faye is an animal communication practitioner living in Devon but the nature of communication work means that it is not necessary for Faye to be in the presence of an animal to connect with it. A photograph is all that is needed to enable a connection to be made with an animal. Faye shares with owners the results of her initial connection with their animal (usually a description of the animal’s personality, how the animal is feeling physically and something specific that only the animal and the owner know) at the beginning of all first sessions so owners can be sure of a good connection. A lot of her animal communication work is done using photographs and she has helped animals living as far away as Australia and the USA.

What is animal communication?
Animals are communicating with humans and other animals all the time. People often think the only ways animals can communicate are by vocal, animal sounds or body language. There is, however, another communication method used by animals that is powerful and that we can understand - it can be described as the sharing of feelings and emotions. Sound strange? Go to the "Animal Communication" page to find out more!

What is my animal trying to tell me? How can I help my animal – I don’t understand them…how can I find out what my pet wants?
Our animals are so clever – they work hard to try and understand us and what we want/need but sometimes when they try and tell us things, we just can’t quite understand what it is they are telling us. It is frustrating for us to feel we can’t help them! This is where animal communicators can help. Communicators help owners of cats, dogs, horses, ponies and other animals to find answers to all sorts of problems. Communication is an opportunity for owners to understand their animals better, as well as finding ways to help their animals to:

What animals can you work with?
The techniques used to communicate with animals are the same, no matter what species they are. This means that Faye is able to work with all animals – so far she has communicated with dogs, cats, horses, a goat, a cockatoo and even a wolf!

Self Selection is suitable for most species. Particular care must be taken with cats and I will discuss this with you if it is something you are considering.

Red Light therapy is suitable for pets and livestock.

Equine iridology is specifically for horses, ponies, donkeys or mules.

What is the difference between horse whispering and animal communication?
Horse whispering is mostly focussed on using the body language of the horse as a way to communicate with them. Animal communication works by understanding the feelings and emotions shared between animals and people and allows us to understand and help our animals at a deeper level. Horse whispering and animal communication can be used alongside each other but they are different in their approaches. Both clearly show the affect our energy has on the animals we are working with. No matter what animals we are working with, the aim for me (and Understanding Animals) is that we do our training through trust and understanding.

I am looking for an equine iridologist for my horse, pony or donkey in Devon Cornwall or Somerset / I'm thinking of having an equine iridology session. Can you help?
Yes! Faye is qualified in Holistic Equine Iridology and holds a diploma in Holistic Equine Iridology from studying with the Catherine Edwards Academy. Iridology is a fascinating subject and the eyes give an amazing insight into your equine - their constitution, their inherited strengths and weaknesses and where there may be current health imbalances/issues in the body. This can help guide the best nutritional support, and management/lifestyle decisions for your horse, pony or donkey. Please visit the "Holistic Equine Iridology" page to find out more!

I'm thinking of having a red light therapy session for my dog, cat, horse, pony, donkey, rabbit, pet or other animal. Can you help?
Yes! Red light sessions have to be conducted in person so please get in touch to arrange a session - either by home visit (in Devon, Somerset or Cornwall), or in some cases it may be possible to bring your animal to me for their session. Horses and dogs can have a structural assessment as part of their session. Please visit the "Red Light Therapy" page to find out more!

What is Reiki and why do you use it alongside animal communication?
Reiki (pronounced “Ray Kee”) is form of energy treatment that promotes healing and can be applied to animals as well as people. It treats the whole “person” including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation, feelings of peace, security and well-being. It can help traumatised animals release emotion - helping them to become more balanced and enabling them to become more comfortable in the presence of people. Reiki works so nicely with communication because it can help with just about all the sorts of problems animals can have. It can work alongside conventional treatment to speed recovery from physical problems, help support owners and animals through the last stages of an animal’s life, help rebalance the partnership between people and their animals, and be applied to situations which an animal might find difficult. Animals are usually very happy to have Reiki – it is never forced upon them. Most importantly it is safe because an animal only takes the amount of energy it needs. Reiki can be given hands on, hands off or from a distance. See the Reiki page on the website for more information. In June 2009, Faye became a Reiki practitioner in Devon. This means she can treat people and animals with Reiki in Devon and further afield as well as offering animal communication as part of Understanding Animals.
